Free Cloud Computing

Friday, May 14th, 2010

There are many sites out there that offer free cloud storage. Thought I’d try a few out.
The first one I tried out was Microsoft’s SkyDrive. I am still messing around with it… I am also trying out ADrive and Ubuntu one.

SkyDrive has 25GB of free storage

ADrive has 50GB of Free Storage

Ubuntu One has  2GB free Storage

Movies that I own that I’ve never opened…

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

So, I was rearranging the living room, and decided to move one of my DVD shelves. After breaking it in two, when I picked it up, many of the cases splattered across the floor. I noticed, as I repaired the shelves and returned the DVDs to their proper places, that several of them remained in their original shrink-wrap packaging.

My mission tonight is to watch all of those films that I bought (which of course I saw in the theater and said, “I have to have that!”). Some of them were gifts, and others were bought when I was too busy to watch them. Regardless, I never opened them.

Here’s the list:
Iron Man
Bourne Ultimatum
Master & Commander
Lady in the Water
3:10 to Yuma
Serenity

Maybe I won’t get through all of them, but I’m not going to watch any other movie before I get through these. :D

Overheard Cellphone Calls

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

By Abe

In this day and age you can’t help but run into people talking on cell phones. The problem is you may not want to hear the conversation the person is having. I have two cases that could make you really hate the random cell phone talker. OK so,

Exhibit A:
I over heard this girl talking to one of her friends yesterday and she said “so Kelly and I have decided yesterday, we are only going to date ugly guys.” I wanted so bad to tell the roll bag toting troll she would be lucky to have any guy date her. I mean come on you should just be happy a man with a pulse would pay attention to you. Sometimes personality only goes so far.

Exhibit B:
OK, so, I don’t know why, but it seems to me guys get even tougher over the phone. I was on my bench chilling one day. I heard this guy talking about some guy he was going to fight. I don’t think I have heard the word bro that much since a gypsy tried to sell me a car. Maybe he was showing off for the attractive girl sitting next to us, or maybe, he really hated the guy he was talking about, not sure. Anyway, when he was done he started to tell me all about the phone call to this bro guy. I tried to tell him I was sitting next to him the whole time. He didn’t seem to remember me being there. I told him I didn’t know this guy he wanted to beat up but man did I hate him now. So. I asked what made him so mad at the guy. He told me some story about being at a party and the other guy bumped into him. I then asked why didn’t he settle it that night? He had no explanation. I guess when he has the safety of his little cellular courage box he can be someone else. Boy if I was a tough as that guy I bet I could get all the hotties.

After thinking about theses two examples, I have to wonder, is the cell phone friend or foe? I mean you can be a mega-hot chick who only dates ugly guys, or you could be a tough guy who knocks other tough guys out over the phone. I guess I can’t be much better as I am typing this on a BlackBerry. But hey, I can’t tell my pal Thom all my stories; I’m sure he gets sick of me ranting about roll bags, starbucks junkies, and trolls I have class with.
